🚀 Getting Started

Welcome to Finvinity! Here's everything you need to know to start tracking your portfolio.

First Steps

1. Download and install Finvinity from the App Store or Google Play
2. Open the app - no account registration required!
3. Start adding your investments by tapping the "+" button
4. Search for stocks, crypto, currencies, or other assets
5. Enter your purchase details (price, quantity, date)
6. Watch your portfolio track in real-time

📱 App Features Guide

Adding Investments

To add a new investment to your portfolio:

1. Tap the "+" button on the main screen
2. Search for your asset (stocks: use ticker symbols like AAPL, crypto: use symbols like BTC)
3. Select the correct asset from search results
4. Enter purchase details:
   • Quantity/Shares owned
   • Purchase price per unit
   • Purchase date
   • Optional notes
5. Save your entry

Portfolio Dashboard

Your main dashboard shows:

• Total Portfolio Value: Current worth of all investments
• Daily Change: How much your portfolio gained/lost today
• Overall Performance: Total gains/losses since you started
• Asset Breakdown: Performance of individual holdings
• Allocation Chart: Visual breakdown of your portfolio distribution

Customization Options

Personalize your Finvinity experience:

• Theme: Switch between light and dark modes
• Currency: Set your preferred base currency
• Notifications: Configure price alerts and updates
• Data Export: Export your portfolio data as CSV or JSON

🔧 Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions

App Won't Load or Crashes

• Ensure you have a stable internet connection
• Close and restart the app
• Restart your device
• Check if you have the latest app version installed
• Free up device storage space (app needs at least 50MB free)

Prices Not Updating

• Check your internet connection
• Pull down on the main screen to refresh manually
• Verify the market is open (stocks don't update outside trading hours)
• Some assets may have delayed pricing - this is normal

Can't Find My Asset

• Make sure you're using the correct ticker symbol
• Try alternative symbols (some assets have multiple listings)
• Check spelling of the company/asset name
• Some very new or small assets may not be available

Wrong Price or Data

• Verify you selected the correct asset from search results
• Check if the asset is listed on the exchange you expected
• Some prices may be delayed by 15-20 minutes
• Report data issues to our support team

Lost My Data

Since Finvinity stores data locally on your device:

• Data is tied to your device and cannot be recovered if deleted
• Regularly export your data as backup using the export feature
• Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all data
• Device factory reset will delete all data

Your Data is Safe

Finvinity is built with privacy as our top priority:

• Local Storage Only: All your portfolio data stays on your device
• No Cloud Sync: We don't upload your data to any servers
• No Account Required: Use the app without any personal information
• Encrypted Data: All local data is encrypted with industry-standard security
• Anonymous Usage: Any analytics we collect cannot identify you personally

What Data We Collect

We only collect minimal, non-personal data:

• Anonymous app performance metrics
• Crash reports (no personal data included)
• Feature usage statistics (aggregated and anonymous)

What We Don't Collect

• Your name, email, or personal identity
• Your portfolio holdings or investment details
• Your location or device identifiers
• Your contacts or other personal data

📱 Device Compatibility

System Requirements

Optimal Performance

For the best experience with Finvinity:

• Use the latest version of your device's operating system
• Ensure you have at least 100MB of free storage
• Close other apps if you experience performance issues
• Use Wi-Fi when possible for faster data updates

⚙️ Data Management

Backing Up Your Data

Since your data is stored locally, it's important to create backups:

1. Go to Settings in the app
2. Tap "Export Data"
3. Choose your preferred format (CSV or JSON)
4. Save the file to your device or cloud storage
5. Set a reminder to backup regularly

Importing Data

You can import previously exported data:

1. Go to Settings in the app
2. Tap "Import Data"
3. Select your backup file
4. Choose whether to merge with existing data or replace it
5. Confirm the import

Resetting Your Portfolio

To start fresh or clear all data:

1. Go to Settings
2. Scroll to "Reset Portfolio"
3. Tap "Reset All Data"
4. Confirm your decision (this cannot be undone)
